How about a healthier alternative to ultra-processed ketchup? This version features fresh fruit in place
of high fructose corn syrup.

Ingredients

1 tsp low-sodium tamari

½ medium red onion, diced (26 g)

1¼ cups (250 g) red cherries, pitted and sliced

1¼ cups (250 g) cherry tomatoes, sliced

2 tbsp (30 ml) balsamic or fruit vinegar

1 tbsp pink peppercorns, coarsely ground
Directions
Place the tamari in a saucepan and heat to medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until glassy. If they become too dry, add a tablespoon of water. Add the cherries, tomatoes and vinegar and cook on low for 20-30 minutes until reduced.
Add mixture to the food processor and blend until smooth. Transfer to another container to store or use. Stir in the pink peppercorns.
