Pizza Sauce

My own freestyle sauce is a forever changing recipe. This recipe can be made vegan when not using the Italian Sausage. It's an easy recipe to make and full of flavour from all the herbs and spices.
Yield: Pizza sauce for two 14” pizzas

Ingredients

1 can of Crushed Tomatoes preferably unsalted

1 Tomato can full of water

2 tbsp of Olive Oil
-
4 Medium tomatoes diced

1Medium onion minced
-
6-10 cloves of garlic pressed (vary based on your taste)

1 tbsp of the following dried herbs:

Sweet basil
-
Oregano
-
French Tarragon
-
Marjoram
-
Sage
-
Rosemary
-
Thyme
-
2 tsp of Maple syrup or Stevia

2 tsp of salt
-
1/2 tsp of Cayenne pepper (optional)

1 tsp of cracked pepper

1Hot Italian sausage cooked drained and shredded, optional
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a large pot and simmer for 2-3 hours partially covered. Taste along the way to see if any other ingredients are required. If it is too thin, take the top off and simmer uncovered.
